Whether dry, medium or sweet, our first concerns in Riesling are balance and fruit purity. Greenhough handle harvest the cleanest, healthiest bunches and ferment cool in stainless steel. Such handling allows these wines to tell the story of their soil and surroundings with greatest clarity.
Hope Vineyard Riesling includes some of the oldest producing vines planted in 1976. It is off-dry and succulent, yet alive and energetic. Apple Valley Riesling is a lighter style displaying juicy sweet fruit offset by a mouth wateringly fresh finish
“Delicious young, this light-bodied (9.5% alc/vol), gently sweet wine is attractively scented. It has intense, peachy, citrusy flavours and shows excellent freshness, delicacy and harmony.” 5 Stars, Michael Cooper – NZ Listener November, 2019
“Scents of lime zest and petrichor join green apples on the nose of the 2019 Apple Valley Riesling. I suppose it’s somewhere between Kaninett and Spatlese in style, with 9.5% alcohol and 31 grams per litre of residual sugar, a medium-bodied feel in the mouth and a bright, crisp, malice finish.” 90/100, Joe Cerzwinski – The Wine Advocate, April 2020
